I don’t think anything really relates to us today they have many different relationships today and back then they had to pay the father if they wanted to marry his daughter.
Their relationships back then were pretty difficult once the man and women were married then the man could do anything to her and with her ( ; the father no longer had control or power over his daughter.
Our relationships now are totally different we have our freedom to do as we please men marry women men marry men women marry women it’s our choice and our time now is much better then their days.

We have it so much easier now days then they did back then, and a lot of people do not realize it. Even 50 years ago it was a lot harder to marry a women then it is now and back then marrying the same sex was not even thought about.
